About the Festival/Event
Matlock Bath Illuminations is a fun-packed family event featuring a spectacular parade of illuminated and decorated boats along the River Derwent at weekends in September and October (7 September - 28 October 2024).

During the 8-week season Matlock Bath Venetian Boat Builders' Association decorate themed models with an array of coloured lights. The models are mounted on rowing boats and paraded on the River Derwent.

There are fantastic firework displays every Saturday in October and the final Sunday night. The fireworks light up the skies around Matlock Bath in multi-colours and can be viewed by public both inside and outside the event.

The event also features a variety of entertainment for the little ones including a funfair, characters and the Illuminated lights all around the venue.
